New Delhi (The Stellar News), Saksham Kalia: AITC (All India Trinamol congress) once again won the west Bengal assembly elections. This is the third consecutive win for TMC in west Bengal bipolar elections. Probably Mamta Banerjee will take sworn as CM of west Bengal once again. This time BJP was giving a tough competition during election campaigning. But election results are showing some another picture.
In this assembly elections TMC is successfully going to win more than 200 seats as per upcoming leading results. In last assembly elections in west Bengal TMC had won 211 seats and seems like TMC is again going to touch that milestone On the other side BJP, another strong contender of winning elections doesn’t get that much response from the population of west Bengal as much they were expecting. According to current scenario of results it seems like BJP can won some around 70-80 seats. But in election campaigning senior leaders of BJP were claiming that they are going to win more than 200 seats. If we can say that in this election BJP had used all its cards to win this elections but doesn’t succeeded in it.
There are two sides of this result first is that BJP doesn’t won west Bengal election but the other side is that the party who had won just 3 seats in last elections had won more than 70 seats in this elections. BJP has lost this elections but simultaneously wins the elections.
The other most noticeable thing is that Last time second number party in assembly elections was CPI(M). But this time this party seems like CPM was not participating in elections. CPM hasn’t won any seat in election according to leadings who had won 74 seats in last time elections. This is shocking.
Main issues on which parties fight election in west Bengal-
In elections the main topic that every party has used was communalism, especially by BJP and TMC. If we remember the incident happened at the program organized on the occasion of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s birthday where people started shouting slogans of “Jai Shri Ram”. After that Mamta loses her cool. Then BJP opens a front against Mamta that she had some problem on Shri Ram’s name.
Then Mamta Banerjee also used this same trick on the name of Maa Durga against BJP. She started distributing Pratima’s of Maa durga. She also attacked on PM Modi that the people of Bengal don’t want any outsider. She introduced a new slogan which was “Khela Hobe”. This has proved a popularity reason for TMC. Everyone it may be party workers or party leaders, everyone while supporting mamta addresses everyone with “Khela Hobe” slogan.
Another biggest issue raised by BJP was “Gunda Raj’ and “corruption”. BJP raised questions on the law and order situation of West Bengal. Senior leaders of BJP again and again mentioned deaths of their party workers in west Bengal. BJP has done most number of rallies in contest to assembly elections in west Bengal. But the people of west Bengal chooses side of TMC.
One more significant issue again raised by BJP was multiple projects and schemes launched by centre government which was not implemented in west Bengal. BJP alleged Mamta many times that she doesn’t want growth of poor farmer and common man.
What makes TMC win this Election-
The biggest reason is the high women voter population. West Bengal is a place where women vote share is very high. Women take elections as a festival. This factor proves very beneficial for TMC in this elections. Women take Mamta as she is a girl representative in west Bengal, so voted for Mamta.
Another reason is popularity gained due to competition between whole BJP and Mamta Banerjee. Every leader of BJP was targeting Mamta which led to increase in Mamta’s popularity. This means that BJP automatically becomes the reason of TMC’s win.
